Wilgus & Wilgus Photographers - A Doll House Photographic Studio, Office

This is the front office of the doll house studio I posted a couple of weeks ago. There really is a reason why the crocodile is hanging from the ceiling. Sarony the famous 19th century theatrical photographer hung a stuffed crocodile from the ceiling of his reception room.

On the desk is a little black box camera with a green plug and on the file cabinet is a tiny copy of theScientific American; Sept. 15, 1888. The cover story is the introduction of the Kodak camera. In this little studio it is always August, 1888.

I want to get it up and will come back later to add more information.

Riverside Photographic studios

Riverside Photographic studios

Lost amongst a cluster of abandoned and tumbledown buildings next to the river Humber, Hull, is Riverside Photographic Studios, empty and derelict. Parts of the roof is missing, and upstairs the floors are rotting and dangerous. Amongst the collapsed ceilings and peeling paint are the remnant of a place that would once have been an impressive building. The last owners Anthony David Baines and family now operate a photography business in nearby Beverley.
